Anybody been up to Portland? I was impressed with the Vegan options. First/only time I've seen Vegan Docs (Dr. Martin's). I wanna go again any suggestion?

I don't know about animal rights groups, but for great vegan restaurants I would recommend Shangri-la in the Sunset and Golden Era in the Tenderloin. I frequently find myself return to both of those places for great vegan food.

I am coming over to San Fran on the 15th August!!  I am really just looking for any information on the best vegan restaurants and also want to know if there are any AR groups and if you hold weekly demos/protests?

Thanks guys... I'm a 10.5 (actually harder to find than 10 or 11!) & narrow enough that I usually walk right out of shoes that aren't cut narrow but I will definitely check out the local Payless and keep trying to find something that will work online :)
