Though I wouldn't want to become a Preachy Vegan :-)
Besides, if I'm lacking the support structure of a religious institution, I can always worship at the alter of veganism ;-)
Yes Amber, that's my approach/feeling exactly... I'm quite happy to sit on the fence, until someone can categorically prove that their either is, or isn't, a deity.
I'm not prepared to go on faith alone and, as yet, I've not become 'delusional' (the word used by a Baptist minister I know) enough to 'hear the voice of God'.
"Anything's possible but nothing's proven." That's basically what I believe. I think that there probably is something bigger than us-basically I believe in energy-but not the mythical God character in the sky pointing a finger at us. I also think that we as humans on Earth have no real way of knowing for sure how all the universe works. That being said, I do feel very strongly about animal rights abolitionism and ending animal slavery. So, yeah, I'm an agnostic vegan. Good to see there are a few others out there. =)
You might want to join the psychedelia group Trevor...
Calm down gents, I'm sure Trevor's comment was facetious, but it's fair to say that magic mushrooms are to be treated with respect, not to mention that they are illegal in most countries.
I'm not encouraging people to do nowt and I am not pushing poison. We have a group here for marijuana users, yet you are saying that I can't mention magic mushrooms. Saying that magic mushrooms ruin peoples lives is going a bit over the top isn't it? I'm not trying to create conflict, it seems as if you are doing a good job of that.
I don't believe in religion or God, but have you ever eaten magic mushrooms and thought "Fucking Hell, were these put here for us to explore and find out about ourselves and everything around us?".
I call myself 'Agnostic' because, whilst I do not 'believe' in religion, I can't be sure as to the existence of God (can any of us?!).
There's an Agnostic Atheistic group too, and an Atheist one!
