Just started training for a half marathon in Sept. Have been a smoking, beer drinking couch potato for so long. Running a bit and stopped smoking, beer remains. Need some motivation! It's hard going, mostly staying motivated but managing to get out 4 times a week. Not aiming to break any records just wnat to finish. Now the cheeky bit.

I am raising money for a mental health charity in the UK, www.rethink.org. If you would like to donate go here: http://www.justgiving.com/Michael-Kelly70.

Good luck to everyone in your efforts.

I like doing walking/hiking. A year and a half ago I also started doing some running. I found a running group near where I live and found that really good. I recommend trying running because I found that I feel quite good from doing it. I am not into gyms.

Brittany I know how you feel! I just started my job two weeks ago, and I'm grabbing what I can to eat, lol. I'm mostly not eating healthy, and it could be my stress too. I don't exercise because I'm either too sore/tired from work, or I'm just not motivated...

Hello!

I definitely need to stop eating junk food, eat healthily and exercise... like... at all.

Anyone London-based interested in meeting up for getting into shape - like going jogging in the park or taking long walks?  We could have virtuous healthy food together too sometimes.

don't worry Coreey we are all in the same boat. I want to lose 10 pounds but its very hard lol. I have just got a new job which i start this week in a restaurant and im scared that ill be working so much i will not take notice of what im eating like grabbing what i can. Apparently in the restaurant if you have a split shift they will give you a meal i don't know if thats a good thing maybe get the salad :)
What i'm going to try and do is even if its once a week pick a day to do exercise . I have a shadow boxer which the workout is only 30 minutes so im going to try and fit it in. Think of an event you want to look good for such as Christmas or new year then use that as your motivation thats what i'm trying to do.
Today is the start of a new week
Good luck
:)

I need help. With all the stress of school and having places to go I never have any time to exercise and lose the 15 pounds that I want off, and when I DO have time, I'm just not motivated at all. I really want to lose weight, but it's turning out to be very difficult.

Have very much been a couch potato this week.I am going to make more of an effort to get a job-because i am stagnating here at home.

Off to an Aero-Basics class this afternoon, which is free as part of the change 4 life scheme.

Tae Kwon Do is my sport! : ) I can go any day a week, up to 5.
But only on weekdays.
I have too much homework, my semester is heavier than ANYTHING! GRR!
So Instead I do 1 full question (usually a through h) then I play 1 song on DDR, which is a video game that makes you get up and move, and if you get good enough at the coordination part, it's a really good cardio workout! and it's a lot of fun.
