I thought im th only persian vegan around here(made me feel a little special)

I've just finished the part of A History of Iran where it details Shahnameh, but, alas, this book doesn't detail the vegetarians. It's something to bring up in discussion, though.

 

Looking forward to the general release of Forks Over Knives, as well. Saw a screening of the film. It is fabulous, informative, and empowering for vegans/vegetarians.

I ain't Persian but I live within the borders of the ancient Persian Empire (now Turkey) :) My soul feels Persian tough..tried to go to Iran a few times but never could get a visa... I even gave my children Persian names...

I love the Shahname... the most ancient book in the world from Iran...and it details how the first civilization was vegetarian..In the story a demon type entity fools the King to eat meat for first time and as he does snakes come out of his shoulders.... Go Persia!
