Is it worth opening this group up to all Volentian runners, and not just raw members? Any thoughts most welcome... Richard (volunteer moderator)

Looking at Member details Inuka, Edyta (who I've met, and I know is a keen runner) is probably your best bet (though not really 'local').

It might be worth asking other Reading/Berkshire registered Volentians if they're up for a jog :-)

Are there any runners in the Reading, Berkshire area? A running partner would be great. I normally either run round the university or along the Kennett. If anyone has any other route suggestions, that'd be great too!

Jill, that Get Fresh! magazine is available online, and you can download a few back issues for free here.

I'm a barefoot, low-fat raw vegan runner. :) Love it.

I was a runner until about 5 years ago when i stated to get regular pains in my knees so i gave it up completely!
I went 90% Raw 1 year ago and within a few months the knee problems became less and less and i have recently started up running again. I can honestly say that 3 months into it and i have no knee pain at all!!

If you like what Natalia has to say then you would LOVE Get Fresh magazine. We sell it where i work but have no clue as to where to get it otherwise. It is a magazine from the UK and Natalia writes articles for it. One of the best magazines out there without a doubt! Good luck on your 1/2 marathon training!

i do long distance runs (5+ miles and crosstraining in the gym). currently, i'm training for a half-marathon. i'm vegan, but *try* to eat mostly raw vegan foods. i'm actually trying to get more info on transitioning into a raw vegan diet. i find the more raw food i eat, the more energy i have. but, it's equally important to me to eat vegan b/c of my strong feelings for animal rights. i've found the book by natalia rose "the raw food detox diet" very helpful. any additional advice you might offer?

I actually play soccer but have been a distance runner in the past. I really want to get back into running....I just became a raw-foodist this past summer. I thought playing soccer would be tough afterwards but only for the first week or two while my body adjusted from eating junk and lots of meat all of the time. I play a few times per week and have been dropping a lot of weight and have more energy....all of which make a big impact on my game.
