I just posted up some updates yesterday, which include our regular dates at the pub and cafe and the picnic and Paul's birthday meal, as well as some events from other groups such as Vegan Pledge and SEAR meetings. It is on the Event Listings discussion thread.
Comment by Duncan Simon on April 15, 2013 at 11:30am I can't generally decide which shifts I do and don't want; I'm on a five-week rota and I've already booked my holiday for this year but I will hopefully be able to make a couple of meetups in May.
Would be lovely if you can make it Maggie on the 28th!
What I would really recommend most for vegans in May is helping on the Vegan Pledge event in London, 12th May, and 9th June, or even just one of those dates if you work awkward shifts. I've helped out the last three yrs or so. Of course for the veggies who are not vegan I'd recommend signing up as pledgers.

I didn't mention that Richard, just thought it was a bit cheeky!
Duncan, I do not understand how your shifts work but don't you at least get to request some specific days off like Napak does (Richard's girlfriend)? She works shifts as a nurse and does not always get the shifts she likes but sometimes she does get a requested day. Does it help knowing dates in advance, for example to request the picnic day off (although of course we can't guarantee the weather and we also have a back up date so might be best to request a day off for something more definite than that one)? I'd say probably more worth it to request days for something a bit more exciting than the pub meets - are you on the various London veggie and vegan meet up groups? They have so many events, meals out, drinks, etc, that it would be difficult not to find some dates that suit you! Also there is the Animal rights meet up where they do a lot of protests and days helping at sanctuaries. I am on about 8 Meetup groups, some ppl are on a silly amount though and can't possibly be active on them all!
That's great that the pub have agreed to it Lesley. I'll put this in my diary and see if I can come. Sounds good with vegan cake! (and as I say, if I come, I will bring some of my own too!)
What about World Day for Laboratory Animals? Is anyone going to that from here? 27th April (day before pub meet)
Comment by Elizabeth Ann Dunsby on April 14, 2013 at 1:29pm hope you get a response from some others Lesley, but it will be lovely to meet you and whoever else turns up :)
Comment by Duncan Simon on April 14, 2013 at 12:11pm I would love to be a bit more active this month Lesley but I'm working on nearly all the meetup dates (Third Monday lunch and last Sunday pub meet). Hopefully May will be a bit better...
