I believe the Buddhist emphasis on compassion for all sentient beings can only be truly realized with a veg*n lifestyle!

Being a vegetarian, besides of all the benefits that it has for your health, life of other sentient beings and the enviroment, is the most compassionate lifestyle as well.

If we follow the advice of the historical Buddha who left in the following sutras:

Angulimala
Lankavatara
Surangama
Brahmajala
Mahaparanirvana (the same as talking about the coming of the Karmapa)

And in śilas (ethical precepts) of right acting (samyak-karmānta) and right living (samyag-ajiva) of the Noble Eightfold Path:

-Refrain from destroying or taking lives (Saccavibhanga Sutta, Kammaraputta Cunda Sutta).
-Be right livelihood: not breed, trade or promote the consumption of meat, this because the suffering and exploitation of sentient beings (Vanijja sutta).

So as far as possible we must cultivate:

Maitri / Mettā (loving kindness)
Ahimsa (non-violence)
Karuna (compassion)

I have many books that talk about the relationship of Buddhism and vegetarianism, with impressive Buddha quotes where he says things like that you have to consider the meat offered to you by others with good will and faith like taking the flesh of a murdered son and therefore reject it, is one a monk or a layman ... a great topic of conversation for those buddhist that haven't take the step forward or misleads the concept of compassion.

Yes Brian, I love Nick's (AKA Pogo) work, and Jasmin, my 4 year old daughter, is entranced by his Disney remixes :-)

Well it's an ongoing thing so if any here would like to sign up for the course let me know. I'm sure all of you are comfortable with the compassionate nutrition but I'll be presenting some fundamentals so you can get a better idea of how your body works and the reliable ways for it to get its nutrition. I'll be linking water nutrition to water structure brought about through intent and sound before the chanting begins so we can have an appreciation of the profound effects chanting can have on our bodies of 60% water. All I'll ask for the courses are donations as I'd like this to be freely available to people so all one needs is the determination to really activate their bodies and lives. If you become confident with the course, perhaps you could become a facilitator too, do your bit for your part of the world and collect your own donations through the community site I'll setup. If you ever thought of becoming a samaritan but wanted a vegan buddhist foundation to the support and do it out of your own home, this is the plan. All it requires is the will, no setup or admission fees making it easier for the world to be a nicer place.

An introduction to chanting Namu Myoho Renge Kyo, the chant of the Lotus Sutra.

Happy Chanting :)

I'm running a facebook group for running a course called the,
'Lotus Pure Sound - Life Transformation Catalyst'
It's covering nutrition, chanting and movement.
All anyone needs to reach those higher life vibrations and manifest their heart felt dreams. Esoteric qualities are balanced with new science to understand how effective the human body machine is and how it works lead by emotion and manifests according to intent. Join now in the middle of the current course or hop into the second course run soon after. The current one is free. The second is undecided. It would be nice to qualify the time invested in running the course while making it available to all. Suggestions welcome, perhaps donations once the site is setup. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions, want to join the group or would like a free one to one discussion and practice session.
