Anyone have fun backpacking &/or other outdoor adventures planned for the coming (North American) warm months? I'm in Portland, Oregon & would love company for day or extended trips around this area and perhaps beyond! :)

Hello everyone! Looking for some great camping ideas, I am just about to move into an RV and will require quick easy and healthy recipes for living in such close quarters! LOL exciting and yet will be challenging! YAY

I read 'A Walk in the Woods' by Bill Bryson and his account of parts of the Appalachian range has inspired me to walk hike in the Appalachians at some point in my life. Currently I'm stuck with walking in various parts of the UK, mostly Scotland and the Peak District in Northern England, although that is no bad thing; I love Scotland and particularly the Isle of Skye of which I have many fond memories :)

I attempted to do my first long distance hike (the West Highland Way) with a friend last September. We had to abandon after my mate contracted a stomach bug on the third day and I had to get help him home. The weather was a bit dodgy but there were some truly magnificent views across Loch Lomond on the second day.

I'll be spending the Summer close to the Peak District so I hope to get a lot more walking in and possibly some wild camping too. Might have another attempt at the West Highland Way or another LDP in August or September as well.

Sarah Nicole,
Thanks very much for creating this group! I see you're in the Southern Appalachians, where I used to live. Those mountains are indeed some great outdoors! I now live in the Arkansas Ozarks, and there are some special places here. I invite all veggies to come experience the sublime beauty and joy of these forests and rivers! I'll definitely be back to the Smokies...

I have a Specialized Allez Elite that I just picked up for a 200k charity ride that im doing in june, I also have a Giant Iguana hardtail mountain bike that I plan on riding out soon. The weather is finally co operating enough that I can break out the new bike and rip down the cycle paths; so freeing!

I am going to look at bikes today! I am so short (4'11") that I am riding a kid's size bright pink mountain bike right now. haha! I want an Urban Street Distance Rider! Any other cyclers here?

My favorite place to run and just sit in quiet awe of how amazing nature is.
