Tuned to a frequency,
My day is followed by screams.
I hear them every waking second,
And even in my dreams.
My perspective is a receiver,
The radio of another's pain,
The dial I cannot turn off,
Tears they come like rain.
For those who have no radio,
No knowledge or no care.
Induced the screams of murder,
With a look so laissez faire.
Every single restuarant one passes,
Even…

When your family are immoral,
Where does your loyalty lie?
Is it with the blood that's yours,
Or that's spilt and left to dry?
For indeed the crimson cries,
Are multiples of what's my own.
Then ponder my so stance,
To condemn rather than condone.
For the guilty have no defence,
But that they do not care.
To dare to call such horror evil,
Is deemed to be unfair.
For in a family the…

How we judge art that demonstrates the ideas of animal cruelty, such as writing that is of such activities... I am a few chapters into moby dick and recognizing that it's art, it's fiction, therefore you should judge it artistically and not morally.. But then the vegan in me says this is a book filled with whaling. Just as Hemingway is full of shooting animals and enjoying the thrills and violence and blood of bullfighting.. How do you deal with the moral part of you shouting out the…

Richard Ⓥ Molyneux said… Typical, I was just about to recommend The Gallery Cafe!
Are you up for paying for a venue, or are you after a freebie? Also, any dates in mind, total duration of plays (inc. gaps), number of performers, requirements for dressing, scenery, seating, etc., etc. Clearly there's a lot of info that'll dictate suitable venues, so please do tell me all you can.

Star Lounge has a stage, as I recall, and its dance hall is a good size (don't know about availability of extra seating though, could people stand if you're on a stage?).
I'm looking at holding another Harrow event, ending up with a singles/social at Star again (you went last time, as I recall), but hosted by someone else this time. Perhaps we could join forces?
Going by the photo above, it might just have a stage ;-) (Click on pic to read more info)
More photos of Star's upstairs and downstairs here and on their website, in case you didn't make it last time.
Richard Ⓥ Molyneux said… If you don't need somewhere spacious, you could ask Shyam at Karma Free pizzeria, as he hosts/hosted a monthly social. If you're after a larger venue, then you could ask Ramesh at Star Lounge.
There are other places, not so far West (such as Tibits), but your choice obviously decreases if you require a veg*n venue (are you after food?!). Let me know more about your requirements, and I can narrow it down.
Why not combine it with an existing event, that way you'll get a better turnout.
Penelope McDonald said… Hi robbie,
Delighted to make friends and I love your poem. Penny.
Richard Ⓥ Molyneux said… Sure Robbie, no problemo, just get the info to me in good time as I'm always busy, busy... well, you know the rest :-)
Richard Ⓥ Molyneux said… Thanks, but yes, busy, busy, busy!
Richard Ⓥ Molyneux said… Of course, send me all the info you can, when you have it, and I'll see what I can do. Are you signed up on the majority of London Meetup groups, as they're probably the best way of getting bums on seats ;-)
I can help you create one Meetup (i.e. on my Surrey group) and then send you the HTML to copy and paste into all the others.
Richard Ⓥ Molyneux said… Yes, we made it to Veggie World, though with a run-around at Birmingham station. And then the platform numbers were wrong at Bletchley (due to engineering works closing 2 tracks), so we almost missed our train back to Euston!
Richard Ⓥ Molyneux said… Great was great to bump into you on Saturday :-) I trust you had a safe journey back...
Napak Thontasen said… Hey Robbie! Thanks for being friend :) Nice to have one more vegan friend!
Nia Garcia said… So nice speaking with you Robbie! Such a pleasure to meet someone doing vegan art:)
